I landed my first real job in 2014 investigating financial crime in the UK, specialising in insurance and financial fraud, after having completed my MSc in Crime Science, Investigation and Intelligence.

Despite loving our respective careers, my now wife and I got itchy feet and felt the need for a change and to explore opportunities abroad! After about a year of travelling, we landed and settled in HCMC, Vietnam, where I quickly found a job as a Senior Advisor at Tenzing Pacific Services. Tenzing is first and foremost an insurance brokerage but the company also has a smaller personal finance branch where I could leverage my background and started exploring the world of personal finance further.

Over the years I start talking more openly about personal finance – moving it from my career into my personal life. What I found was that while a lot of people wanted to speak to someone about their finances, the big bad wolves at “independent” financial firms with their cold calling tactics scared them all away. And, it’s not that surprising really when the lack of trust in the financial industry is often spearheaded by the predatory practices of “independent” financial advisors and big banks.

So, 4 years after arriving in Vietnam and through the encouragement of my wife and a few close friends, I decided to put my passion for finance to good use to start Patrik Shore Personal Finance.

I exist as a financial planner, to teach you how to get a solid grasp on your personal finances and to help you while you take one step after the other on your own financial journey.
